I’m sorry this is a day late, yesterday was a shit show for me. So we’re doing feature Friday a day late. 😦
Welcome to another Feature Friday!!! Today we are highlighting SingleMamaNY!!!
SingleMamaNY is a page designed to be that daily reminder that a woman can make it through anything that is thrown her way. Ran by a single mom from NY, SingleMamaNY has taken on a personality of providing emotional support during tough times. SingleMamaNY chooses to remain faceless at this time due to everything going on in her life. She is a clinical therapist, entrepreneur, blogger, podcaster, public speaker and women’s rights advocate. Pictures and blogs are of day to day life for parenting, food, love, exercise, and self-care. Follow this page to interact and meet a community of strong women that can give you that boost of support when feeling overwhelmed.
Go and check out her Instagram as well.
- What made you want to start blogging?
I started SinglemamaNY when I recognized needing a new coping skill for my stress. I needed an outlet and a place to write some thoughts while getting the perspectives of others. I also value being able to do product reviews and be a brand ambassador, as companies value what I stand for and promote. Now, I love the discussion that builds and reading messages from my viewers that they feel empowered to take on their day because of my posts.
- What did you want to do growing up and are you doing it now?
Growing up, I really never had a calling aside from the fact that I wanted to help people. Being a clinical therapist has given me that, as well as being a mom. Life experience during my marriage showed me that young women need guidance so that they can become empowered enough to make healthy choices that are best for them. Some traumatic events have lead me to want to speak out and help others so that they can keep emotionally and physically safe in relationships.
- What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done and would you do it again?
I really don’t do too many crazy things! I balance a full schedule of two jobs, being a mom to a toddler and cat, running my SinglemamaNY page/podcast/blog, exploring the dating scene and all while trying to look and feel good. That is crazy enough, right?
- What has been the best phase of your life?
I think that this right now can be the best phase of my life. I have everything I need, and I will just be looking to add someone to it that can only further contribute to happiness. I am blessed every day for my son, my family, my home and my life. I have nowhere to go but up. Divorce kicked my butt and took an emotional toll, but it showed me that things can only get better. I just have to be the best version of myself every day.
