I found an article on Huffington Post about a mother who changes her daughter’s princess books a little bit. I like what this mom has done with the books, to an extent. I have no problem with feminism, obviously, but this mom may have gone a little far with some of these. I just feel that the children reading or being read these books are too young to hear “My body, my choice.” You can teach children empowerment and equality without teaching them about adult issues.
I also think it’s perfectly okay for a child, boy or girl, to read or be read fairytales. Especially if the parents of said child make it known that it is a fairytale and nothing else.
Here are some pictures of her altered books:

What do you think? Would you alter your child’s book? Would you or do you teach your children feminism? I want both of my boys to be feminists. I want them to want equality for men, women, and people of all races.
